21.01.2026 17:10 β π 6 π 2 π¬ 0 π 1Sadly I think it would take longer than a day.
21.01.2026 08:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Screenshot of newspaper headline that states "Owner of King's Lynn wood refused permission to feel trees"
Meanwhile, in local news.
19.01.2026 21:14 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well, it's good to know that Adeel Akhtar, who I thought seemed like a lovely bloke, appears to be a lovely bloke. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...
18.01.2026 22:25 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0"Bang! And *everything* is gone."
18.01.2026 17:18 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A small felt alien in oranges and purples rather testicular in shape with vines and fronds projecting from it at all angles and a big sort of trumpet coming out the top on a black felt background
Made a little felt Triffid, based on the Penguin paperback cover.
In retrospect I wish I hadnβt chosen the most nutsack colour to sew what was already quite a bollockular form but sometimes I quite enjoy having created myself a bit of an obstacle to deal with, or in this case, a testicle to surmount
You should - it's well worth it. A great day of festivities to welcome in the new year properly :)
17.01.2026 23:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Another great creation. And I've got a copy of that same Penguin edition (I love the triffids!) and have always been a little bemused by that Buster Gonad inspired cover treatment.
17.01.2026 22:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A close-up photograph showing some heads of wheat, which make up the "costume" of the straw bear.
While the world slowly disassembles, I took part in some distraction avoidance activities and had a grand day in Whittlesea, at the Straw Bear Festival, where I got the opportunity to get up close and personal with the star of the show.
17.01.2026 22:30 β π 15 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Heading out into the flatlands.
17.01.2026 07:52 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Checking the internet, there are apparently 44 places called Paradise, with more than a few in the US - which currently seems a stretch eh?
06.01.2026 21:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ha - well spotted - this was indeed the village I grew up in, and while it was a fine place to grow up, I think I'd have expected a little more to be twinned with paradise!
06.01.2026 21:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Youβre safe :)
25.12.2025 01:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sparing a thought for all the clergy personnel involved in services later tonight:
24.12.2025 18:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reckon it's time to sign up then :) particularly if this is a sign of things to come - great to hear Rosie Cavaliero starring too, she's great.
24.12.2025 17:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hoping there's more of this kind of thing planned in 2026!
24.12.2025 12:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This was great :)
24.12.2025 12:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0If only we'd had David Gandy about in 1974 to stop the the rise of the bad "narrative" of the father as a "useless fool" :)
23.12.2025 20:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It is! Bit baffled itβs getting taken off iPlayer tomorrow, youβd think they might extend it a little given the subject.
01.12.2025 21:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Now that my birthday is out of the way Iβm happy to allow the focus to shift onto festivities of a more seasonal kind. So Iβm starting with an office party from 1970 care of the people at Man Alive (if you want to join me be quick as itβs pulled from iPlayer tomorrow): www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...
01.12.2025 21:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Watched this late last night - for reference, if you're looking for something cheering, then I'd perhaps put it towards the bottom of your 'to watch' list. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRv2...
24.11.2025 21:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Deserves a much bigger audience, although Sean Harris is more than a little alarming.
23.11.2025 21:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@dustysevens.bsky.social Always odd to get post on a Sunday night, but a neighbour who's been away for a fortnight has just passed on your postcard that was delivered to them in error. Glad they made the effort to return it to me - now starting a new category in my postcard collection.
23.11.2025 20:03 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A still from the film The Goob, showing actor Liam Walpole (who plays Goob) on a moped, riding along an empty fenland road.
Post a movie where youβre from. (Well almost.)
23.11.2025 19:59 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 2You and me both - and to be honest I would be happy to know less about the rest too :/
19.11.2025 08:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0An impressionistic photograph of The Shard in London, by Simon Roberts
An impressionistic photograph of the River Thames, and the Houses of Parliament in London, by Simon Roberts
An impressionistic photograph of St Paul's Cathedral in London, by Simon Roberts
An impressionistic photograph of the Grosvenor Bridge, and the Battersea Power Station building in London, by Simon Roberts
Love these photographs by @simoncroberts.com, that appear in a new book, After London, published by the people at Hoxton Mini Press. Not wholly sure they "invite us to imagine a future transmuted by climate crisis", however, regardless as to whether they do or don't, they're some first-class work.
19.11.2025 08:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Still, good to see the planet's billionaires managing to avoid condemnation eh?
15.11.2025 18:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Always meant to get a picture of that when I was down that way last, but forgot. Surely in the top 10 of road sign graffito?
15.11.2025 18:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Electronic Sound is always worth investing in - and this issue looks of particular interest. If nothing else am intrigued how "the thinking man's Limahl" (c) Smash Hits, aka Nik Kershaw, was involved in the Cold War.
15.11.2025 11:39 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Which is a roundabout way of pointing you towards this really great short documentary on the world of competitive stone skimming. youtu.be/l5gEI33klgI?...
