27.10.2023 11:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Wrapped up supervising a project on Tubeworm symbioses! Such a throwback to marine micro days. From sponges to mice, my academic journey keeps reinforcing my belief: the treasure lies in understanding ground-rules of host-microbe ecology & evolution applicable across host organisms.
19.10.2023 20:30 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1I like to read *real* microbial ecology research periodically to remind me that opportunistic pathogens and model systems exhibit only a narrow range of possible interactions. For example, this makes our fascination with surface-sensing seem small:
www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Are you interested in mutualisms? Have you always wondered how these cooperative interactions emerge and coevolve?
If the answer to these questions is YES, then please consider joining my vibrant group as a PhD student.
Please RT.
