Prosecuting Attorney for Washtenaw County, Michigan. Democratic candidate, Michigan Attorney General.
I’ve litigated major environmental cases, and am ready to do so now.
And you can take this to the bank: I’ll never back down in the fight for our planet’s future. /fin
As Attorney General, I’ll do just that. Back in August, I laid out the stakes (and my plan), which you can read in the Substack here: elisavit.substack.com/p/trumps-att... /4
12.02.2026 20:14 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0But this isn’t over. Not by a longshot. Today’s action will be challenged in courts—& state AGs must be on the front lines. Indeed, it was only because of advocacy by state attorneys general that the Endangerment Finding was issued in the first place. And they must fight now to keep it in place. /3
12.02.2026 20:11 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0If this rule goes into effect, it will accelerate climate change. It will put thousands of jobs in the clean-energy sector at risk. It will threaten our Great Lakes. And it will increase emissions of toxic air pollutants—resulting, by some estimates, in tens of thousands of premature deaths. /2
12.02.2026 20:10 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0In an outrageous middle finger to our planet’s future—and a gift to billionaires and fossil-fuel companies—the Trump Administration today repealed the Endangerment Finding, which provides the EPA authority to regulate greenhouse gases.
Here’s what’s at stake, and what I’ll do as AG: /1
Proud to announce the endorsements of a dozen city, county, and township officials from across the state.
From Detroit to Kalamazoo, from Berrien to Leelanau, from Flint to Warren, we’re building a coalition of leaders across the state to build an AG’s office that works for everyone. Onwards!
It shouldn’t take people dying in the streets of Minneapolis for us to stand with communities who are under attack.
We need leaders who will stand up when the attacks start—not just when they reach a fatal breaking point.

No one should be afraid to show up for court.
Washtenaw Co Prosecutor & JanePAC-endorsed candidate for Michigan’s Attorney General @esavit.bsky.social has joined the effort to encourage the #Michigan Supreme Court to bar ICE agents from making arrests in state courthouses.
We're proud of you, Eli!
My mom isn’t AI.
But if the Trump Administration and scammers get their way, you might be seeing a lot of AI moms in the future.
I’ll fight back as AG.
Friends in #Michigan take it from @janefonda.com, "@esavit.bsky.social will be in your corner." As a law professor and prosecutor he's defended our environment from corporations and Donald Trump.

What @sbagen.bsky.social says to read, you read.
This is spot-on: “The capacity & willingness of state & local prosecutors to act, not in contravention of legitimate federal interests, but in defense of their citizenry…is not only consistent w/ the structure of American government but vital to it.”
Nobody’s above the law.
Though federal officers have immunity defenses that can be raised in court, the Trump Admin is wrong to suggest that ICE officers are categorically exempt from state law. Nor can the feds simply tell the state not to investigate, or not to charge.
Nobody’s above the law.

What’s worse than paying sky-high prices at the grocery store?
Having an algorithm jack prices up on you—specifically.
And as AG, you can bet I’ll fight back.
My comms team said I had to do a “67” video. I wanted to do one about reproductive freedom.
This is our compromise.
You're invited! Join us on 12/29 at 4:00 PM MST to discuss corporate money and consumer protection with Pima County Attorney Laura Conover and Washtenaw County, MI Attorney Eli Savit. As always, we will cover a variety of different topics and take questions.

Corporations should NEVER be able to buy favor with an Attorney General.
That’s why I’ve never taken a corporate PAC check—and never will.
It’s Open Enrollment—& health insurance costs are burying Michiganders & small businesses.
Though the Trump Admin bears much of the blame, there’s another culprit: anticompetitive consolidation of the health industry.
And (yes) this is something the next AG can address. Link in comments:👇🏻
Somalis are not “garbage.” Affordability isn’t a “con job.”
And perhaps if the President was focused on our shared needs—not trying to divide us through dehumanization—we wouldn’t be in this economic state.
I’m pro-business(es that follow the rules).

Some great Black Friday deals out there! But those that seem too good to be true? They probably are.

AG Nessel is entirely correct about the stakes here. As a result of a recent Supreme Court ruling limiting nationwide injunctions, Michigan *must* participate in lawsuits that harm the people of this state—or risk being left out of any relief ordered by a court.
24.11.2025 17:50 — 👍 10 🔁 3 💬 2 📌 1As I’ve written, it was always unlikely that SCOTUS would reconsider marriage equality in this particular case.
But make no mistake: there remains a real appetite to erode LGBTQ equality. And—even with today’s welcome news—we must vigilantly fight back.

Nope. The court order is still in place as we speak; the Trump Administration has appealed seeking to undo it. Status quo—unless a higher court disrupts it—is that benefits must continue.

Our argument is simple: it is indisputably in the public interest to continue SNAP benefits. Cutting them off will mean some 42 million Americans—children, disabled people, elderly people—could go hungry. And local governments will be left to pick up the pieces. /2

And just now, we’ve joined over 80 local governments & officials in filing a brief urging the continuation of those benefits. /1
