“Emergency funding exists for exactly this kind of crisis. If the reality of 42 million Americans going hungry, including 1.4 million Michiganders, isn’t an emergency, I don’t know what is. It is cruel, inhumane, and illegal to hold back emergency reserves while families struggle to put food on the table. I want to be clear: this is a choice the Trump Administration is making, but I will continue doing everything in my power to ensure the federal government does not turn its back on the people it is meant to serve," said Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Happy First Responders Day, Michigan! Bravery deserves backup — and this year’s budget delivers. We made critical investments in the equipment, training, and resources our first responders need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

for Science Lab updates, and Clintondale Community Schools to secure $1,000,000 for much needed flooding repairs.

This year’s process was mainly focused on safeguarding important services in the wake of federal cuts.

I will share more of my thoughts on the budget process in the days to come.

🧵This was a very lean budget year, but I was able to secure some badly needed infrastructure improvements and firefighter equipment.

I am proud to have worked with Matt Sahr and the MPFFU to secure $130,000 for the City of Eastpointe firefighters, Roseville Community Schools to secure $800,000

Michigan State Sen. Klinefelt (D) calls out Sen. Bellino (R) after he blames the left for Charlie Kirk's assassination:

"We just had a state rep in in Minnesota murdered by somebody. You don't hear us standing up here and saying, 'the radical right, the radical right, the radical right.'"

House Republicans love to tout cutting "waste, fraud and abuse," but do they know how these cuts will affect everyday Michiganders?

It’s been 24 years since the deadliest terror attack in our nation’s history, which took nearly 3,000 lives and injured thousands more. We will never forget the horror and tragedy we felt as a nation on September 11, 2001, but everyday, we work to rebuild as a stronger, more united America.

The House GOP budget is nothing more than a copy-cat of Trump's big ugly bill for Michigan - slashing billions of dollars from services people rely on every day. Michiganders deserve a budget that helps them thrive, and we won't stop fighting until we reach a deal that accomplishes that goal.

Anthony: Michigan needs a 'people-first' budget As Senate Appropriations Chair, my top priority has always been crafting a budget that puts people first.

The MI Sen Dems passed a budget months ago that puts Michiganders first, making critical investments in what matters most - you.

We remain ready to negotiate a good deal for Michiganders with the House. Read more from Appropriations Chair, Sen. Sarah Anthony: www.detroitnews.com/story/opinio...

Every day the House Republicans continue to block the bills we passed to help Michigan corrections officers is another day they're forced to go without the retirement security they deserve.

Enough is enough. Send the damn bills.

Smart budgets lead to a smart future for Michigan, and Senate Democrats are spending smart this budget season. We're investing in our most crucial resource, our kids, with record funding for students and big investments in school safety, literacy programs, and support for teachers.
