Just wanted to drop in and say that as an autistic person who went undiagnosed in childhood, the fact that you know and you're trying is HUGE. That matters, a LOT.
If i had to boil down the advice I'd give based on my own experience into just a few broadly applicable tips (which you may well know):

I've been a furry for... oh, god, about 25~ years or something (I got started young!)

and every single time I have ever seen *any* opinion critical of furries in *anything* it has been a motivated by a mix of queerphobia and ableism
