I wonder if Apple electing to have a more hardware focused CEO is evidence that they see their future depends upon a profitable, solid platform of hardware and operating systems with devices. Lock-ins lessening due to regulatory pushback, PC/Windows machines becoming less relevant, and cloud AI.

I think you are onto something with the performance. Also consider that the packing of the M1 may be costly compared to the smaller A16 which is at least as capable due to just being newer. Maybe even a higher performance per watt allowing for less battery and even more savings.

I’m sad to see the podcast go but I think I understand. There is a lot happening in the world and Apple isn’t the rising star it once was. It’s a bit like having a podcast about the wonders of indoor plumbing during a nuclear war. What kind of kitchen faucet is in style becomes hard to talk about.
