"Enforce faith-based policies" is a telling phrase, as it indicates that the LDS church is driven by the love of power, not the power of love. Religion should have a ministry function, not a constabulary function.

In a SCOTUS brief opposing the recognition of transgender personhood as a protected class, the LDS church states that such protection could restrict its ability to enforce faith-based policies.

At least six Historically Black Colleges and Universities feel it necessary to go under lockdown because rival factions of a White Supremacist political cult are violently feuding with each other.

Rainbow crosswalks don't unjustly impose on people, and they don't threaten public safety. The law prohibiting them serves bigots' interest in ideological control.

Any law that serves neither justice nor safety serves law makers', law enforcers', and law supporters' power.

It's from Hitler¹, but its seeming consistenct with Trump's "anti-Christian bias" fad speaks to our political milieu.

It seems like now would be a good time for the Supreme Court to explicitly affirm that detainments and deportations that involve neither warrants nor due process are unlawful orders, and that they will refuse to uphold the conviction of any government agent who refuses to obey such an order.
