Please folks, I'm BEGGING you to hold on to your funny little drawing. Art, in any shape, even silly arts online, is an essential part of our humanity and mind. That's why fachists always ban arts first.
Creating and enjoying Art is the essence of living and living is resisting.

The secret to writing is that readers do not actually care about worldbuilding nearly as much as authors think they do.
You know people who get obsessively wiki-brained about media? That only happens when the media has themes, characters, plot points, and emotional stakes they get invested in.

frankly if we had a UBI youd get SO MANY GOOD GAMES
before i move onto godot proper, i want to make one last roblox tower. and for it, i'm coding some devious 3d platforming mechanics, to give this game some momentum based nonsense.
(what do you mean, "this is just pinball purgatory from celeste: strawberry jam"?)
iโm going to try making a proper list of what components are easy to implement, and which are difficult to implement.
once i get through all of the easy stuff, i can ask more specific questions about the hard stuff.
thank you for the advice!
you know? that honestly is a fairly good explanation of why iโm runninrg into a lack of informationโฆ if i could just use csg boxes, i wouldโฆ
but there are nuances that the game iโm trying to replicate (roblox obbies) that just arenโt availableโฆ like friction, climbability, and scaling partsโฆ
i am a game designer, trapped in a game developer's body. i can mash together some code to make stuff work when i have context on what i'm doing, and that's it.
i wasn't built to run "game developer's greatest secrets, finally revealed"... and yet that is the role i've been assigned...
a roughly drawn image of a conceptual level editor, taken from the likes of roblox's obby/tower creator games. [top] - a list of items that can be selected by the user. [center] - a user selecting a block that's snapped to the side of a wedge part. [right] - a properties menu for the selected part, with editable position, rotation, color, transparency, and scale. [bottom] a menu that displays the current action being taken, and has an editable snapping range, and rotation interval.
calling any game developers - how do i make a usable 3d level editor in literally any game engine.
it is the sole thing in the way of me making something playable. the top result for "making a 3d level editor" is a video that jokes about how there aren't any tutorials for making them.
help.
yeah! thanks for the cleanup of some of the messier bitsโฆ
the difficulty comment was mainly because i was expecting some brutal puzzle trial from the way i heard it discussed on the internetโฆ
turns out, another game prepared me pretty well for this oneโs shenanigansโฆ so it was just a fun vibeโฆ
a simplified rendition of null, communicating: "just finished tunic! and i must say:" the remainder of the message is in trunic: "very fun! even if one of the less lethal puzzle games i've played as of late..."
the knowledge i've obtained playing this game will be very useful for sending highly cryptic messages to my friends...
