It was realistically acted and she, as expected, made the score wrap brilliantly around her voice. Shout out to (I assume) Andy Einhorn for the well-placed key changes mid song.

Still thinking about Audra’s Mama Rose two days later. If you go expecting her voice to miraculously have a different timbre than it’s had for the years she’s graced the stage, you’re not getting that. But her Rose was so grounded and had absolute reality-defying tunnel vision.
