The Phelans ran the only bookstore in Vermillion, South Dakota.
But after the state passed a measure preventing transgender young people like their daughter from using girls’ bathrooms, they sold it and moved away.

Screenshot from Wikipedia, with the heading “In literature and history,” reading: Seth Peterson, a boatman, fisherman, and friend of Daniel Webster, described the 19th century orator and statesman (per biographer George Curtis) as having greatly enjoyed scrawed cod: He loved codfish best—he liked to have them scrawed—to have them split open, corned a little over night, and broiled for breakfast. I've fixed him more than a thousand. "Scrod" has been used as a facetious past participle of the word "screw," slang for having sexual intercourse, since at least the 1960s, in jokes like "I got scrod in Boston."

Text of story: Harvard prez Garber says report of a deal "was apparently leaked to the press by White House officials." NYT ran with it as a story.
Important details from this story:
1) Yet another news-break by student journalists (this time @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social) www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...
2) Harvard saying "see you in court," not "let's make a deal."
3) Per Garber, WH/MAGA leaked news of a "deal." NYT then ran with it.

He blames this moral panic on “politicians in Washington trying to use this as a political pawn,” which is exactly right, but then says that transphobic parents have legitimate concerns about “fairness in sports.” That’s just not true, and Dems must stop validating this fascist campaign.
