ALL ROAD USERS.
And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, itβs actually safer to NOT have them.

Ok I was recommended this SER Playlist which so far is helpful

This was a foolish idea that i came up with that no one on my committee has expertise/experience in π
If I didn't think it was a brilliant idea I wouldn't do it but I'm convinced it's necessary!
Iβm about to embark on my first multilevel analysis (which also happens to be a dissertation aim)
I am going in with 0 knowledgeβ¦. Help?
Ok who has seen wicked and is obsessed? Iβll go first: ππΌββοΈ

Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

22.11.2024 13:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How do you approach submitting papers for publication? Do you always know which journal tou want to publish in? Do you do research to find the perfect fit? How many journals do you try before going back to the drawing board?
22.11.2024 12:58 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah maybe posting about a colonoscopy isnβt the way to go viral?? π€£
Not that I would want that level of engagement⦠too much pressure!
Well not a LOT but the few posts Iβve made have almost no interaction. But maybe I need to post more to get on peoples radars and live with the no interaction for a bit? I canβt tell.
22.11.2024 12:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I have a lot of followers (I assume from SER starter pack) but very little engagement in my posts
22.11.2024 12:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes we just posted about #confounding but we can't forget our other favorite: #bias! SER members @mattpfox.bsky.social, Nedghie Adrian, @maartenvsmeden.bsky.social & Elizabeth Suarez share reminders on common sources of bias and how simulations can inform your understanding:

18.11.2024 19:25 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This will be my eighth colonoscopy. It never gets easier but I always try to keep in mind that this is to prevent cancer, and that helps a tiny bit.
Hit me up if you ever need any tips or tricks for getting through your colonoscopy prep day! Thanks for tuning in
So even though my risk of colon cancer remains high, the chances of catching it early is also high! I also get an upper endoscopy every three years to make sure everything leading into the colon looks okay.
18.11.2024 14:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0By getting a colonoscopy every year (or as I like to call it, an annual cleanse), my doctors can detect polyps in my colon before they have the chance to turn into cancer and can detect signs of cancer early
18.11.2024 14:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Women with Lynch syndrome have between a 40% and 60% risk of developing colon cancer and it is likely that this will happen before the age of 50. Scary, right?
Well, luckily for me, colonoscopies exist!
As I fast in preparation for my colonoscopy tomorrow I am reminded at just how awesome preventative care is (a thread).
I have Lynch syndrome, a genetic mutation that increases my risk for certain cancers, including colon cancer.
Hi all! Iβm a 5th year PhD candidate in epidemiology at BUSPH. My research interest is in maternal health, primarily childbirth, and Iβm also *very* passionate about teaching!

anyone have any leads on a a teaching/clinical track faculty position (ideally somewhere in commuting distance of boston)?
Statistics version of the distracted boyfriend meme. The boyfriend is labelled statistical significance. He is turning his head to admire a woman (labelled sample size) to the disgust of his girlfriend (labelled effect size).
New statistical significance meme!
