With five parties on double digits, the first-past-the-post voting system makes a complete mockery of any semblance of a fair elections.

It’s way past-time to make seats match votes and GET PR DONE

Water bills: millions of households in England could face even bigger rises CMA poised to give verdict after appeal by five firms for permission to increase bills higher than allowed by Ofwat

England households could bigger water bills as the competition regulator prepares to give verdict on industry appeal.

36% rise already approved by OFWAT.

People will continue to be robbed. Companies raise capital from customers, shareholders get returns.

End the scam. Nationalise water.

This is the truth that Reform, Tories, Farage and Badenoch are avoiding telling you.

Dominic Grieve is right. Leaving the European Convention on Human Rights would be a reckless act of self-harm, breaking security ties, breaching international law, and weakening Britain’s standing while doing nothing to solve the problems this government pretends to fix.

Is this what we really want?

It is now essential for Labour to use their majority for a once in a lifetime chance to bring in PR for parliamentary elections.

Wake up Starmer, smell the coffee, it's PR or lose the next election.

Fast forward to 2029:
Reform U.K. win a majority and form a government with πŸ’―% of the power on approx 30% (or -) of the votes cast. #FPTP

They can then implement the Reform U.K./Tory policy of leaving the ECHR, against the wishes of the majority of voters.

Shame on Keir Starmer!

Following the awful attack in Manchester and high levels of anxiety

Instead of doing the right thing and focusing police resources on protecting our country

100's of police are arresting OAPs, vicars and disabled people for terrorism for holding banners!

It wasn't asylum seekers who increased anyone's rent or energy bills, the rich did that.

Correct, yet another knee jerk reaction that won't solve any of the people's problems but does help subjugation by authoritarian govt and big business.
See the effect of Freeports and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) where national laws no longer apply, just another stepping stone along the way.

Police to get new powers to crack down on repeated protests, says Home Office Move follows arrest of almost 500 people at latest pro-Palestinian demonstration in London on Saturday

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
This is another retrograde step by, of all, a Labour govt, unbelievable.
A govt running scared and in hock to a bad decision to outlaw a protest group.
Our civil rights, so long fought for, are being stripped away from us. We are living in a police state.

At the 2022 Labour Conference, Labour members overwhelmingly passed a motion in support of Proportional Representation.

Starmer:
β€œIt’s not a Priority.”

In multi-party elections, where a single party can gain a majority on under 30% of vote cast, it’s a priority to #getPRdone

Labour must use their majority to bring in PR for parliamentary elections.
This is their last chance to counter far right politics.
Without it, centre and left division will be punished by FPTP and the right will take over just as it has in the US.

Medicaid Work Requirements, Debunked
Robert Reich Medicaid Work Requirements, Debunked

Georgia’s Medicaid work requirements program spent two times as much on administrative costs as on health care costs β€” while preventing thousands of eligible Georgians from accessing health care.

Say it with me: Medicaid work requirements don’t work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzMqYttKv1c

Then there is the prospect of how the govt will secure this data against hackers?
And how will this and any future govt resist extending the data collected and stored, eg health, passport, driving licence, convictions, police records, universal credit.
Then will they sell this data, and to whom?

New digital IDs will make it tougher to work in UK illegally, says Starmer The prime minister says Labour has shied away from illegal immigration concerns, but says the new ID will make

www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cw...
Here are some issues
1 how is the govt going to police this, what new "force" will be needed?
2 an all digital solution is limited, really a physical card is needed. There are lots of reasons for this.

This video explains how it will create Banking failures and how that will affect EVERY part of life as we have come to expect it. Affecting jobs, food and society based on money flows.

Trump has dragged the US to the abyss and Nigel Farage would do the same to Britain. Here’s how to stop him It’s not too late to puncture the Reform leader’s populist myth. His β€˜make Britain great again’ act is out of step with the British people, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland

www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Indeed, why are our media so entwined and enamored of Farage? Is it just the readers eyeballs they crave or are they actually seeking political change for personal gain? In which case they don't deserve our attention.

YouTube video by Garys Economics The far right will win if we remain divided

I'm inclined to believe this analysis. The logical result is that we desperately need to dump FPTP for PR. It is FPTP that so punishes division and falls to represent voters intentions and diversity.
Will labour have the guts to legislate for it?

A thoughtful look at our electoral system, and the way forward with proportional representation.

However

That would need proportional media coverage, which we definitely don't have at present

After reading the news reports it seems to me the US is in the deep "doodoo" over the killing of Kirk. People being censored, losing jobs, attacked on SM just bc they voiced an opinion. Kirk claimed to be all about free speech but apparently in the US free speech is now rather selective!

Silencing the drumbeat again: seeking asylum is legal Hundreds protested in Ashington against so-called "illegal immigrants" - though seeking asylum has been legal since 1951

Say it again, and again, and again. They are not "illegal immigrants".

-seeking asylum is legal and has been since 1951.

This legally trumps all arguments of β€œbut they arrived by illegal means”. That’s just a fact. That’s why you don’t see asylum seekers arrested & charged. Our MSM must do better.
