Nice harvestman on the moth trap this am. AI is suggesting Odiellus spinosus. It is large, but is it large enough? And is the saddle too dark - more like Lacinius ephippiatus? If all the white dots on it are tubercles then I guess it's the former? @vannabartlett.bsky.social can you help? #bugsky

I've been going through some old pics & stumbled upon this. Caught 8/6/21 and recorded it as Pseudococcyx turionella (Pine Bud Moth). But I'm now wondering if it is actually Pseudococcyx posticana (Dark Pine Shoot Moth). No measurements I'm afraid. Any thoughts @mothiduk.bsky.social? #teammoth

Probably an unnecessary re-post for anyone following me. But if this message reaches just one person who isn't aware that honeybees are not the solution (and increasingly part of the problem), then it's totally worth it!

Black V-moth (Arctornis l-nigrum) - Normandy overnight 12/7/25. Only the second one I've seen. The first in the same location in Aug.'23

White-foot Moth (Epiblema foenella). I've only seen this species once before, at home in July '20.

Radford's Flame Shoulder (Ochropleura leucogaster). A migrant species in the UK. I've trapped one in Cornwall in Sept '24.

Phoenix (Eulithis prunata). Not a rare species, but one I've only seen once before - at home in July '24.

Spotted Sulphur (Acontia trabealis). Rapidly departed after this one pic. An extinct species in the UK, having formerly been found in Breckland in my home county of Norfolk.

Idaea rubraria - nearly dismissed as a Riband Wave, AI on App picked it up thankfully.

Not sure I ever thought this might be a feasible garden "tick"....turns out it might actually be on the cards if the 2025 expansion/wanderings isn't a one year wonder.

Lunar Thorn (Selenia lunularia) - a new species for me

Dark Spectacle (Abrostola triplasia) - a fairly common moth in the UK, but one I've only encountered once on Isles of Scilly. Hopefully it will visit my garden soon!

Dusky Marbled Brown (Gluphisia crenata) - this individual is the second I've caught on this trip and in much finer condition than the first!
