He was pushing for a move last season. Winning the Europa, qualifying for the Champions League, some signings and a new Manager who's made him Captain and he's committed his future to the club.

18.08.2025 16:44 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Aren't Villa rather thin? No Bailey, Rashford or Asensio from last season. Hardly bought anyone either due to PSR.
18.08.2025 16:43 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0It doesn't explain that, but it does explain in part why they were so easily got at on counters/transitions. But only in part, eg we do have legs in midfield but have also been open to counters 2nd part last season, preseason and Bournemouth. So it's structure as well.
18.08.2025 16:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yes, Doak was kean to leave. He was impatient last season and pushed for a loan move. He did well before injury and that's got him this Bournemouth move.
18.08.2025 16:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yes I agree with that. If he finishes outside the top 10 he'll definitely get sacked. He might even lose his job if they finish below say 8th given expenditure. First time under Amorim I saw a team play with cohesion so at least that's something to encourage them.
18.08.2025 16:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yes. And also his message isn't wrong if Man United lose games in the future, which they will, his message is right. Last season he was incredibly negative, even though his team were bad a player hearing that constantly can't become more. He's seen big improvements. Utd have threats now.
18.08.2025 14:29 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Edwards and Slot are ruthless when it comes to young players. I'm not saying that in a bad way, more factually. Slot is visualising who has the ceiling to be a Liverpool player soon, if not he doesn't see the point in delaying.
18.08.2025 14:23 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0a given day they can. The results not relevant to the point he's trying to instill on his players. He's saying don't be down after that result. If you play like that you 'can' beat the big teams. Klopp talked like this often. It was an impossibility last season, now it's a possibility. 3/3
18.08.2025 14:20 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0say last season Bournemouth were or Newcastle were or Aston Villa were. That's not about consistency, which is a different thing. And he's not saying they won't lose either. It's what they are capable of and he wants them to believe it. And with Mbuemo, Cunha and Sesko if the team clicks on 2/
18.08.2025 14:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0He's just building them up, which absolutely what he should be doing after a performance like that. Arsenal weren't that shit tbh, they faced a much improved team which they weren't expecting at all. His point is after such a performance is they're 'capable' of beating any team on their day, like 1/
18.08.2025 14:15 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Eh? That's the best I've seen United play in a year. The performance was better than Arsenal's they just missed chances. They have real threat with Mbuemo and Cunha who are much better than Hojland, Zirkzee. They've clearly improved.
17.08.2025 20:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You need to include Wirtz, Frimpong and Szoboszlai as part of our attacking options as they are.
17.08.2025 20:35 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0People are mocking Amorim for this but if I was a Man United fan I'd be much happier with Amorim being upbeat and positive like this than the constant doom mongering and negativity he spewed last season. And United were the better team imo so I agree on that too.
17.08.2025 20:31 โ ๐ 10 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0We know which players suit our way of playing.
17.08.2025 20:29 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Possibly true, still Arsenal are a strong team aha United outplayed them. That was unthinkable last season. They've definitely improved.
17.08.2025 20:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Man United look much better than last season. Big win for Arsenal. Old Trafford will be a harder place to go for most teams this season.
17.08.2025 18:54 โ ๐ 11 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It was very smart to get the Leoni and Ekitike deals over the line so we're not too desperate trying to get deals done for Guehi and Isak. Imagine it goes to last few days of window and we'd got no striker or new CB in - we'd get ripped off massively in our desperation!
14.08.2025 07:44 โ ๐ 17 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I don't think Wharton leaves this summer. Maybe next.
11.08.2025 12:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Al Nassr have reached an agreement in principle with Bayern Munich for Kingsley Coman.
The deal for the winger is set to be between โฌ25m and โฌ30m.

Mac Allister and Gravenberch would probably get the ball to Wirtz better (that's not Dom or Curtis' strength) though Grav has some development needs in that area still.
11.08.2025 12:03 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Wirtz is a brilliant but our defenders and midfielders need to be MUCH better at finding him. I saw him make so many great darts and movements all game yet Jones, Szoboszlai and Konate constantly just didn't play the pass to him.
Give Flo the ball!
I feel more confident after the Charity Shield. The result will shake out any complacency the players might've had, Arne will use the loss as inspiration to drive the team forwards (like he did with Forest or PSG) and get better & the owners/DoF have added reason to push through further transfers.

05.08.2025 08:00 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This angle of Rioโs goal is delightful. Only just turning 17 #lfc
05.08.2025 07:50 โ ๐ 87 ๐ 18 ๐ฌ 9 ๐ 0Matches vs Athletic club show we're well placed to challenge for the big Titles, with the exception of the CB situation. Isak would be phenomenal but it's definitely CB that's should be our biggest priority atm.
05.08.2025 07:58 โ ๐ 10 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thanks!
21.07.2025 21:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Not sure who we were facing in this match (I'm assuming a cup game vs lower league opposition) but our 3rd choice team would beat this XI.
21.07.2025 16:45 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0There is a good recent story by inThe Telegraph that outlines the mountain of debt that John Textor's multi club structure is built on. The debt is more than ยฃ880m pounds featuring crazy interest rates of as much 22%! It is mad how easily these clubs have been put at risk through deals like this.
