Eh? That's the best I've seen United play in a year. The performance was better than Arsenal's they just missed chances. They have real threat with Mbuemo and Cunha who are much better than Hojland, Zirkzee. They've clearly improved.

You need to include Wirtz, Frimpong and Szoboszlai as part of our attacking options as they are.

It was very smart to get the Leoni and Ekitike deals over the line so we're not too desperate trying to get deals done for Guehi and Isak. Imagine it goes to last few days of window and we'd got no striker or new CB in - we'd get ripped off massively in our desperation!

Mac Allister and Gravenberch would probably get the ball to Wirtz better (that's not Dom or Curtis' strength) though Grav has some development needs in that area still.

Wirtz is a brilliant but our defenders and midfielders need to be MUCH better at finding him. I saw him make so many great darts and movements all game yet Jones, Szoboszlai and Konate constantly just didn't play the pass to him.

I feel more confident after the Charity Shield. The result will shake out any complacency the players might've had, Arne will use the loss as inspiration to drive the team forwards (like he did with Forest or PSG) and get better & the owners/DoF have added reason to push through further transfers.
