Do I change out of my PJβs and put on sweatpants for Lowes? Yes.
30.10.2025 21:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This happened to me except it was my own nostril
27.10.2025 14:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is giving me anxiety. Good luck!
27.10.2025 02:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A wooden table covered in various pottery pieces all made from black porcelain with white accents and blue glaze on the inside. Mugs, cups, shot glasses, pour-overs, sakΓ© sippers
Last two kind firings lined up my workbench. My glaze experiments did not work but everything else turned out good. Now I just have to sand. All. Of. It. π«

It worked for me on porcelain slip, probably because I didnβt know it wasnβt supposed to work lmao. I used coffee as the diffusion liquid.

Close up of a mug with painterβs tape around the handle to create a line when glaze is applied between the handle and body.
Close up of the mug with taped handle after glaze is applied and tape is partially removed showing how it leaves a clean glaze line in the handle
Close up of mug with taped handle after fully removed showing the finished glaze application on the handle with a clean line where the glaze stops abruptly along the handle where it joins the body
I use tape to get clean glaze lines around rims and handles. It also serves as a spout to pour excess glaze back into the bucket.

Three coffe mugs sit on a damp concrete floor. One finished mug half full of coffee and two mugs at bisque stage with a wet sanding pad hanging from the lip of the left one.
Sometimes I drink coffee while sanding pots but I have to be careful not to drink a cup full of sanding sludge by accident
04.10.2025 19:14 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm all set up at the Milford Art Affaire on Main Street. Weβll be here all day with almost 150 artists. If youβre looking for something to do in the Cincinnati area today then come check it out!
27.09.2025 13:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Here are some progress pics of my new garlic roaster design. See the finished pieces in person this Saturday at the Milford Art Affaire. As usual these are made from Blackice porcelain.

Thatβs what I was thinking too. Scammer is using the photoshopped pic that makes him look almost normal.
05.08.2025 03:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The bottom one is nice looking and actually more vibrant than I need so Iβm going to blend it down and hopefully find a concentration that looks good and doesnβt pinhole.

Continuing the glaze experiments: here are the two new bases on the left with added stain and zircopax on the right. Sadly both still pinhole.
The top one I am concerned that the extra cloudiness is un-melted alumina hydrate which means itβs chemistry is not what it should be so itβs out.
Three black porcelain garlic roasters are drying on a metal shelf. Each garlic roaster resembles a lava lamp with the main conical section as the lid which rests in a gallery at rim of the base. The base is a cylinder which flares out at the top to accept the lid.
Trying out a new garlic roaster shape. This one is more angular in keeping with the rest of my work, but pays homage to my original design.
I throw this in 3 pieces: the base, the main body of the lid, and the top handle.

Two black porcelain test tiles sit on a table. The first one has a slightly blue tinted glossy glaze, the second one has a cloudy white glaze.
Continuing the glaze tests, these are two alternate bases that I will try to use with the red encapsulated stain from my previous experiment. These are reformulated for lower LOI and potentially higher movement to help with the pinholing from the stain.
07.06.2025 20:19 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I accidentally read them in reverse order and had he opposite reaction: βWhy is <character> so mean?! β¦ oh thatβs whyβ
04.06.2025 18:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0All set up in Cincinnati / East Walnut Hills for my first show of the year!
03.05.2025 13:42 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As a trophy I think 2 screams βfirst placeβ but as a piece of art I think 3 is the one I would most want to have.

29.04.2025 12:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Another vase, this one in my usual cobalt glaze and a white slip inlay.
Sometimes I wonder if my style is too one-note but Iβm the kind of person who listens to the same song for a month and having that come through in my pottery feels natural.

28.04.2025 16:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I read the first one and was like βhaha classic Pitchbotβ then I realized it was real and remembered that satire died in 2016.
28.04.2025 15:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A short black porcelain vase with a wide mouth and inlaid white porcelain band above the mid-section. The mouth and interior of the vase are glazed in a flowing purple glaze with white specks.
Iβll call this another glaze experiment but I didnβt actually change the glaze since the last experiment I just thought it would look nice on this vase.

That <I can flip this and then you start to do it and then youβre like βno I canβtβ> motion is sooo relatable
17.04.2025 03:17 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Two roughly thrown cups one with a white porcelain and one with black porcelain both glazed on their interiors. The glaze appears pink-ish on the white cup and purple-ish on the black cup.
New glaze experiment. I want this one to be a bit darker and more vibrant, and I am still chasing a bubbling/pinholing issue, but itβs getting close. This is the same glaze on both pieces so I can see what it looks like on light and dark clay.
15.04.2025 01:53 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love trimming marbled pieces because removing the layer of blurry slip to reveal the crisp pattern underneath is incredibly satisfying. Like unwrapping a present.
14.04.2025 01:32 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Haha yes 100% this the struggle is real
12.04.2025 20:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A shot glass made from black and white porcelain stands freshly thrown on a potters wheel.
A line of 7 thrown shot glasses, each on its own MDF batt lined up on a ware board.
Overhead shot of a potterβs wheel with a partially thrown shot glass and other freshly thrown shot glasses placed on a ware board behind the wheel.
Nice throwing session last night making more marbled shot glasses. Despite their small size (only 5oz of clay) I throw these individually because Iβm terrible at throwing off the hump. The marbling will be more striking once the outer slip is trimmed off tomorrow.
