Just finished Fatima Abdullahi's "Roots that Abide" and it is such a good read. Home-seeking in a world where everyone has a quiet little gift.

The way I was on tenterhooks throughout this episode you'd think I didn't already know how the story ends. This is the mark of a thing well made.

‐ Syril spent all these years hating Cassian just to die at the exact moment he realizes Cass doesn't even know who he is. Damn. To Syril, it was hunting Cass down that started him on this path. To Cass, he's just a random guy.
