If this was about men the terf would be saying this to the male police officer speaking to her instead. But it's not about men. It's about hate towards trans people, trans women in particular. Same hate used in the past towards other minority groups, just different language.Well done for being calm.

I wish in my work I could pass over swathes of required interactions with necessary regulation etc, etc. It would make my job so much easier, but I fear my patients wouldn't be happy, or my regulator, or my employer or ....... The list goes on. I also have a professional ethic and a conscience.

Having worked in the health profession for many years I've seen some people from ethnic minority groups treated appallingly, and it's only getting worse. Strange as the only people I've ever had issues with at work are entitled fellow white colleagues.

As a recent former senior nurse of many years,I do sometimes wonder if the will is there with some practitioners, because guidance on prescribing and bloods is out there from what I remember. I've come across alot of conversational bigotry within healthcare circles about engaging with trans people.

I feel for you. I'm tall too and my tall cis women friends have been mis-gendered when least expected throughout their lives. However, this SC debacle & resultant increased bigotry has made things much worse as it's given carte blanche to misogynist behaviour.

As a former nurse I'm hoping this isn't just the same thing being rebranded. I've known nurses who've worked for the companies involved in assessment & left just as quickly.

I just want to add that I appreciate you're an ally & just giving an alternative point of view. Also I wouldn't wear a badge like that in my workplace.Unfortunately the protections you speak of are now being challenged & in some cases overturned frequently.

Of course it's receding, because of fear. I knew from age 4 but held it back through section 28 due to bullying that out LGBTQ+ kids got from other kids and teachers. May as well hit my head against a brick wall with the rubbish that's being put out there.

I get your point about appropriateness but it didn't stop a GC causing public ridicule for the trans woman going about her job passively in M&S. The manager of the shop didn't seem to have an issue with it & do they not have ultimate responsibility for staff behaviour within that locality?

As I've mentioned before its disgusting how any trans person, and by that I mean most likely a trans woman who works for the NHS can be dragged through this inhumane public flogging simply by following NHS HR employee guidance that's been around for decades.
