Yes but don’t you think the game is trying to tell you something? By having it adjust to such actions. The world adjusts to become more action packed but it still punishes with the weight it holds on your conscience and the ever expanding bitterness in its tone.

Yes it’s a game, but I believe you gotta take the narrative into consideration with said gameplay loop, as the chaos system can’t work without the story and gameplay coexisting, you’re right it does reward chaos but it also punishes you on the narrative side by adjusting the setting to be more vile

Idk, I wouldn’t call the world becoming increasingly more evil and inhospitable a reward, and it attempts (fails) to make the game harder too.

If you treat it like a balls to the walls action game, it punishes you, play it like a pragmatic assassin, you get rewarded.

You’re absolutely right, imo they’re both two sides of the same fucked up coin. One hides their pain through anger, the other does through inaction. It’s what makes their relationship arguably the most interesting in the franchise.
