Radio-Canada apologizes after it aired a photo circulated by anti-trans hate groups online, falsely claiming it was a photo of the Tumbler Ridge shooter. Damaging and irresponsible, and this apology raises more questions about journalistic process imho.

I discovered Israeli government procurement documents showing a Canadian group that's sending right-wing media personalities on free trips to Israel was granted funds from Israel's foreign ministry
The funding came through an arm of the ministry focused on managing “public perception of Israel”
“Dennis Modry, a co-founder of the group, told NBC News that border security, the Canadian pension plan, taxes, national debt, and the possible currency revamp were on the table. So was the development of an independent military”

Shame on the IOC for this awful action. And may the #StreisandEffect ensure that this Ukrainian athlete’s message spreads 10 times as far because of this hamfisted attempt at censorship.
In today’s frightening world, everything is political, & orgs pretending otherwise appear clueless or complicit.
It's remarkable how often the loudest people complaining that journalists are liars and biased are also the first people to share whatever random bullshit pops up in their social media feeds when there is a mass shooting or terrorist attack

10.02.2026 18:46 — 👍 3347 🔁 628 💬 304 📌 46Bruce Fanjoy: Statement Regarding the Return to Office Policy February 9*, 2026 On February 5th, 2026, the federal government announced an updated Return-to-Office (RTO) policy for federal public servants. Today, I am calling upon the government to reconsider this policy for the following reasons: 1. The new RTO policy makes it harder to achieve the government's priorities of reducing the operating cost of government, improving affordability, and respecting the environment. Instead, it will cost both the government and citizens more and increase pollution. 2. There is little to no evidence that a one-size-fits-all RTO policy will improve productivity or service to Canadians. 3. The RTO policy makes it harder for public servants to balance work with other responsibilities. I believe Canada is better served by a hybrid model that balances a mix of in-office and remote work. The right balance is flexible and depends on circumstances. Done well, a hybrid model reduces the cost of government and benefits workers and all Canadians. To my constituents in Carleton, I hear you. I will continue to press for solutions that work for you and all Canadians. Sincerely, Bruce Fanjoy Member of Parliament for Carleton
Liberal MP Bruce Fanjoy from the Ottawa-area riding or Carleton is breaking ranks with the Carney government on its Return to Office policy for public servants:

Megan Oldham, from Parry Sound, wins bronze for Canada in the women’s slopestyle event.
It’s her first Olympic medal in her second Games. And how about this, four years ago she missed qualifying for the final by one spot. Now she’s on the podium.
This whole “return to office” discourse needs to be contextualized within the context of government “workplace modernization” initiatives, which are less about productivity or employee wellness than they are about cutting costs and being cheap

1. Many public servants no longer have their own desks and work in transient government co-working spaces
2. Many describe a Kafkaesque existence of going to physical offices only to spend their time on video calls with the people sitting next to them
