I phoned a place to ask them if they would do that for a special occasion and the person just laughed mockingly and refused! I guess there’s a lot of tourist trade because they clearly don’t want loyal customers or repeat business. #dineTO

I was looking for somewhere to book between Seaton Village and Yorkville and almost all have this requirement. Plus they want your credit card and state they will charge you if you don’t give adequate notice to cancel!

I got caught up in this restaurant algebra last year for the first time at Maison T, where 4 of us were told without warning to move to the bar if we wanted dessert after spending more than $300 for appetizers and main courses in 1.5 hours. Naturally, we left. Food & service mediocre at best.

I find it almost impossible to dine out anymore due to all the restrictions placed on customers by restaurant owners. Why would anyone agree to the fast-food environment they impose: 1.5 hours for 2, and half an hour added for each customer! Why don’t they just rent chairs? #DineTO
