09.02.2026 01:35 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yeah that's a telling sign too, it's possible that Sony's built-in audience for AAA single player games — i.e. their YouTube audience — just isn't into this, hence the comment/downvotes — but the game will find an audience anyway. And, alienate their existing audience.
08.02.2026 15:51 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Ach, I accidentally deleted what I said trying to fix a typo.
TL;DR: I think people are over these icky cash-grab "forever game" attempts, especially from companies that make/could be making actually brilliant world-leading single-player games.
But there is something super icky about companies that make amazing, world-leading "premium" games — that you buy once — deciding to make lesser games that you're supposed to play forever and pay for continually. So I get people instinctively disliking the Fortniteification of Horizon.

08.02.2026 13:58 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Did people see the Horizon multiplayer game trailer?
I was hoping for some kinda Horizon x Monster Hunter flashy AAA-ish project, which I would have been on board for. Multiplayer machine hunting could be great. This is more like if Aloy played Fortnite then had a weird dream.
Cutting down beautiful trees and hunting legendary beasts always leaves me a sense of lingering guilt, even if it's only a game. Why is that?
07.02.2026 14:09 — 👍 7 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Mine would be the same pretty much. I little more love for the GBA, I played a lot Advance Wars and Zelda on my red SP on the tube back in the London days.

05.02.2026 17:29 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Agreed. Spotify isn't just morally bankrupt but tirelessly evil.
05.02.2026 15:09 — 👍 5 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0I respect that decision. If enough small podcasts leave the service, it will loosen its grip on listeners, who might a) suddenly wonder why their favourite podcast has been removed and investigate/become informed, and b) use something else to listen, opening a potential exit route.
05.02.2026 15:10 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I’ve cancelled my family sub to Spotify. It once felt like a space that truly championed artists and creativity, but over time, that spirit seems to have faded. I deeply believe that the success of such platforms should nurture art and culture, not be redirected toward technologies for warfare.

This was very fun, especially if you know most of the people from hundreds of hours of podcasts :)
05.02.2026 11:55 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0John’s impassioned dismantling of Spotify on an episode of his podcast was the inspiration for me to cancel my sub and take my own show off the service. It means nothing to them, but I couldn’t be complicit anymore.

A great review as well as a glut of 2026 indies to look forward too.
Quietly shadow banned an anti-woke troll from my YouTube comments without engaging with them first. This feels like a small personal breakthrough for me :') Next, level two: don't think about the comment all day, writing and rewriting my responses in my head.
