The Govt quietly announced a loosening of climate rules at 8pm last night:
- Decoupling the ETS from Paris
- Shifting ETS resets to every 2 years
- Delaying the public sector target by 25 years
- Removing CCC advice from *before* emission reductions plans:

The erosion of democracy continues. The very thing the same people were trying to say about the previous Labour government.

04.11.2025 04:56 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0Covid obviously had a huge part to play in this but, there were signs things were improving, particularly around social housing courtesy of Kainga Ora. That’s been pretty much dismantled now of course.

03.11.2025 02:31 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This is why we need council elections to be held using the same processes as general elections, including the ability to rock on up in person and enrol.

Ross Best • 23h Mike Schimanski we all no wind turbines are a joke to give people the perception of green energy, never see a steel works, smelter or any major industry beside them... I wonder why that is ? Oh yeah and they're ugly. Reply 凸 • Meridian Energy & : ¿ Author. Ross Best Hi Ross, the reason why is they are what's known as intermittent energy - they don't provide a steady supply of power 24/7 like hydro or geothermal can. But, the electricity provided by wind and solar helps supplement those other forms of generation - it's all about not putting your eggs in one basket. Sorry to hear you don't find them as attractive as steel works, smelters or major industry . But we're still going to keep building them © Reply 凸 ⑦

31.10.2025 06:21 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0When Active Regeneration, does not occur, Forced Regeneration may be needed to clear the DPF of soot. The Forced Regeneration procedure is in your owner's manual. • Note: there are heat and burn hazards associated with regeneration. Always follow the specified safety precautions as per owner's manual. Never stop the vehicle where flammable material (e.g. Dry Grass) is near the exhaust pipe. • Ensure there are no people near or touching the exhaust pipe or exhaust gasses. • If your vehicle has a DPF switch, do not carry out regeneration in an enclosed area.
DPF heat up at idle is a thing. It’s designed to get super hot to burn of diesel soot.
