But joy cannot be found in things, and now I just feel like an ungrateful piece of shit.

Again, I know this is the most first world problem ever. I have accumulated so much stuff over the years, and I have hoarding tendencies. I’m OVERWHELMED by the clutter.

Besides, I have anhedonia. Nothing really brings me joy anymore. Maybe that’s *why* my loved ones are doing this.

I have lost interest in receiving gifts. Happy to give them, but I’m feeling so overwhelmed by “stuff”. Such a privileged position to be in, and I appreciate the thoughtfulness…but I had started explicitly saying I don’t want anything, and this has resulted in me receiving more gifts than ever.

I really missed my chance to buy my nanna a bunch of things she “can’t” play anymore for her 100th birthday this year. Maybe next year!

Due to different time zones around the world and many places seeing the 23rd before the USA, does this mean we can expect some rapturing occurring in, say, New Zealand first, or is this a special US offer. 🙃

Maybe if they knew it'd be cool to give that money away 😃

Ahem. So. Venomous spiders are a bit disturbing. Snakes best avoided. But, like, you have BEARS. Antivenom is a thing. Being eaten alive is harder to cure.

I assume the vast majority of people have always had controversial, "evil" thoughts in response to various events. I think it's pretty normal to feel a bit happy that someone you consider to be terrible has died, or is suffering. We just didn't post about it for millions to see in the past.

House Dems should drop a ‘Charlie Kirk Gun Safety Act’ on the floor just to make Republicans go on record voting against it.

I feel like such a conspiracist for thinking it, but I am definitely considering the possibility that it was staged. In the end I am very aware that we *don't know* at this point. I hate to see how this is all going to play out.

The name just makes me think of the nut job right-wing actor.

When we create artificial intelligence robots, they will be given three Laws to safeguard humanity:
1. never do anything to decrease shareholder value.
2. always obey the company unless it conflicts with Law 1.
3. fuck the poor.

There are different ways people choose how long to read a book for. Maybe until the next chapter. Or half an hour more. Or ten more pages.

I often wait until my dog has completed a sleep cycle. "Okay, she's twitching, growling, REMing away, she'll be awake soon so I better stop then."

Sadly not the answer. I wish I (or anyone) knew what the answer was, but this isn't it. Everyone should have a voice. Anything else would be morally bankrupt.
