1/ Got an email from a listener asking about a GFM for a trans woman attacked with acid in West Philly. There was no news coverage and some in the Philly subreddit were skeptical. Checked with the cops and it is, unfortunately, real, though motive unclear:

Guys you are allowed to use someone's voice captured in public. This... isn't complicated. There is also no such thing as "refusing to participate in a story," in this sense, if you have made publicly available statements. Evan just finished up a prestigious journalism fellowship! This is basic.

Jesse I barely see you post on here but following you is incredibly useful because it puts me on tonnes of block lists and protects this Brit from this sites worst tendancies. UK bsky seems a lot more chill than US Bsky to start with mind.

I don't think Alejandra Caraballo has control over millions of trans people in the U.S. (obviously), and I don't believe she's a piece of shit. I continue to think conversation would be better than the approach she and some other activists have taken.
