Approximately 2/3 of the leaders interviewed reported using the EQUATOR checklist appropriately in their recent research. However, within the «SAME» sample, only 1/2 were aware of the EQUATOR Initiative. Weird, huh? 🫧🐠🪸

Meaning that, although clinical practice seems to be moving towards patient involvement in medical decision-making, we may not be allowing patients access to the scientific knowledge that should inform said decision-making by imposing language barriers to access said information.

What we found out was that, although we are publishing more on the topic overall, we are not publishing about biomedical interventions per se, meaning either the Portuguese-speaking researchers are publishing about them in other languages, or elsewhere outside of the LatAm publishing ecosystem.
