30.11.2025 15:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just picked this up from the framers and hung it on my study wall. A beautiful drawing from an original photo of the Siberian Rubythroat I found on Fetlar in 2019. Thanks to @ruths-portraits.bsky.social for doing such a beautiful commission for me #ukbirding

09.11.2025 14:56 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1Tough 7 mile slog around Thorpeness this morning with @scottmayson.bsky.social with highlights being 2 Firecrest and 3 Great Egret. Pallas's Warbler at Aldeburgh Church was to close not to give it a look.
08.11.2025 15:33 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Nice one Jonny. A once annual bird in our county, not anymore ! You scored well with that find πͺ

01.10.2025 15:47 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Whilst birding on Unst, news broke of an Eastern Bonelli's Warbler. The bird performed well to the small crowd present. #RareBirdsUK #UKBirding
01.10.2025 15:31 β π 27 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Just returned from a much needed break to the Shetland Isles (my 14th visit) with @scottmayson.bsky.social and @wallcreeper1.bsky.social
For me, my birding highlight of the trip was watching my 3rd Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler down to 20ft with 7 other birders whilst on Unst.
Excellent, I was on there, too! It was something rough going out in the morning, but by mid afternoon, it had calmed down somewhat. The FEA'S in the wake for 90mims was pretty cool, which was then joined by a Wilson's Petrel

09.08.2025 09:53 β π 20 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Congratulations to William Brame @landguardbirder.bsky.social for realising this was a different white butterfly. Now confirmed by @chrisvanswaay.bsky.social as a Southern Small White - the first seen in England. As it is a female let's hope it has been laying eggs. @matthewberry.bsky.social
