SGML, now there's a term I haven't seen in quite some time.
17.09.2025 13:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'm your huckleberry.
03.04.2025 15:11 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Oh. Oh no. Best of luck!
31.03.2025 13:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Indeed, we live in unprecedented times. Are today's historians doing ok? What with being ignored like Cassandra, to seeing so much new history being made, we should check on the welfare of scholars of history and political science.
14.03.2025 17:44 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This is a wonderful visualization. Really neat to see how much effort was put into building this chart.
14.03.2025 16:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Whether they are actually trying to process an old file format or not, that's the size of an unsigned 16 bit integer. So they're running into some kind of really old limit in their workflow.
14.03.2025 13:35 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's also kind of frustrating that streets are designed to be fast (straight, wide, open sight lines) and then limited by things like speed bumps, instead of designing streets that encourage people to slow down naturally.
14.03.2025 13:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Reminder: if you havenโt yet read โThe Mythical Man Month,โ buy two copies so you can read it faster.
06.03.2025 06:57 โ ๐ 616 ๐ 93 ๐ฌ 29 ๐ 5August even! Fascinating! The business model maybe leads to system builders having earlier access than what is normally reported? Hard to find concrete information about earlier versions of TurboDOS.
07.03.2025 18:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0No earlier than 1982. Tech had a longer shelf life back then, so I can't be sure how much later than that would be applicable, but TurboDOS was released in 1982, and the last release of it was 1983. So I would guess likely no later than 1984, and even that would be pushing it. Likely 82 or 83.
07.03.2025 16:51 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Oh yes, Homerโs famous โTes Thdpssssps.โ

Both of these have happened to me in the last week. Just not in the same morning.
11.02.2025 16:08 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I was led to believe by R.E.M. that I would feel a lot better about this.

24.01.2025 14:59 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1They may have existing infrastructure to support the system that will no longer be available to use (North American data centers, CDNs, etc) which would be cost prohibitive to reimplement in another region without the ability to recoup those significant costs.

13.01.2025 13:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Was this a productive use of time? Who knows! Was I entertained by the results? Yes. Did I feel personally called out at multiple times in this thread? Let's just say that at least I don't use Papyrus.
13.12.2024 21:06 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Brilliant.
13.12.2024 21:05 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0These facts are fine individually, but I don't like what these combined facts imply.
13.12.2024 15:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've always been a little suspicious of 418 responses. Are they really a teapot? Or maybe it's actually a honeypot.
13.12.2024 15:26 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Some of the greatest joys in my career have been seeing the growth in those I've mentored.

12.12.2024 16:57 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm happy that your statement was vague enough that I don't know specifically what you're talking about, but quite concerned that there are multiple possibilities that could fit!
12.12.2024 16:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Safe travels!
11.12.2024 14:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Those same crackpots will just say it's the border with Canada. But then you should see a few fuzzy blurs north of the frame. Not *all* of our population is next to the US border. Some people have chosen to live further north.
09.12.2024 14:34 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That does not help at all. I don't think that I like this fact at all.
