ELGT are working with the Thriving greenspaces team to make improvements to 3 small parks in Leith. This includes Mill Lane, Junction Street and Dalmeny Street Parks. We are working with the The Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society to run community planting days in November.

This is a really good alternative now the crossing's in place (felt like running the gauntlet before). Shows how small changes can have a big impact.

The section around London Road is slightly convoluted, but, otherwise, it’s a pleasant ride and avoids mixing with traffic on all but the quietest of streets.

And here's the route – it connects lots of green spaces and is ideal for children and less confident cyclists.

We're huge fans of Skelf! And always surprised by how many people haven't gone along for a shot - it's only a 30 min, almost traffic-free cycle from Leith Links 🚲

Controversial opinion: Councils should install basketball hoops on street lights instead of electric car chargers. #playstreets #streetsforkids

Granton Waterfront - A new coastal town for Scotland’s capital city

It’s easy to get to by bus or bike, and just a short walk from recently relocated The Pitt, Silverknowes Promenade and Granton Castle Walled Garden.

Another good example of what can happen when derelict spaces are reimagined for people – and well worth a visit.

Permanent public toilets were the no. 1 idea in the 2021 consultation on the future of the former bowling greens area, run by Leith Links Community Council. Huge credit to them for facilitating the consultation and continuing to support the process of turning ideas into reality. 2/3

Turns out it takes a community to build a skatepark...soft opening of The Dock at Coalie Park on Friday for funders, volunteers and skaters mingled to see progress.

Hope to have the fences down in a week

More than 1K people responded to the October 2023 consultation, with 84% supporting the activity hub proposals. A skatepark, pump track and roller rink were among the most popular ideas – and we hope these designs bring that vision a step closer to reality. 4/5
