A league similar to what I (barely) outlined in my autism document would be cool but also a lot of commitment for TOs and players so that's probably not in the cards, but then again the only way to really find out is to try.

One idea I had was for a circuit where there's two tournaments per week, one for America/JP mornings, one for EU/JP evenings, with the caveat you can only do one per week. Would be interesting to see I think.

(this is an extension of my continuing "what we need is a top-level circuit" zealotry)

I'll put it here since Popcast blew up but I think TOs need to take a "throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks" approach to attracting Japanese teams. Money prizes? Art prizes? The love of the game? Mornings, afternoon, evenings? Gotta try a bunch of different stuff #compsplatoon

some methodology for allowing TOs to hold Tier-whatever events (with limitations), while also allowing events to be upgraded in some circumstances. If an event is rated appopriately, the appropriate teams will show up

"this event is Tier 1 because top teams are in it" or "top teams are in the event because it's Tier 1". events should be rated first and then let the appropriate teams come to them, not the other way around

too much for a skeet, but off top of my head: good and flat points structure, TOs and players involved, no circuituous logic, solid rules for tournament value, open.

sendou's idea had a good foundation but it definitely needed more time in the oven.

Short sets are even worse. A 3-0 set win is more like a 3-0 period in hockey. It also doesn't even necessarily indicate a team was dominant, just that they took advantage of their chances and momentum better than the other team.

Plus, pro sports teams have way more time to adjust, both between periods and between games. Also they have coaches and analysts whose entire job it is to figure out adjustments to make within those intermissions

A LUTI set is more comparable to a single game of hockey/basketball than it is to a Bo7 series in those sports. The map score doesn't tell the whole story. 5-0 could indicate five KOs or it could be five one point wins. Nuance is lost.

(also I forgot this earlier but I wanted to add that "support orgs"/"run your own events" is falsely made out to be a mutual exclusion. You can do both. I'm part of Shark Tank rn but I still want to run my own events at some point.)
