Der Unfall von Cruise/GM war ein spezieller Fall: dort ist ein Fußgänger von einem anderen Auto erfasst worden und wurde in die Spur des Cruise geschleudert. Nur dass das Cruise nach dem Halt nochmal drüber gerollt ist, und: Cruise hat versucht es zu verschleiern, was ihr eigentlicher Untergang war.

Wenn es technisch zu komplex wäre: dann dürfte es Waymo und alle anderen ja nicht geben.
Ja, die Entwicklung ist komplex, und damit teuer - aber nicht unmöglich.
Für Bosch war vermutlich einfach das return on investment nicht gegeben.

Und da habe ich eine Frage an dich:
aus welchen Gründen hältst du es denn für nicht in den nächsten 10 Jahren realisierbar, wenn Waymo in den USA bereits seit mehreren Jahren ohne safety driver autonom in mehreren Städten fährt?

Und stimmt, ich habe deine Frage nicht beantwortet - das hatte ich auch nicht vor, denn ich hatte noch nicht Gelegenheit das gesamte Interview zu schauen.
Ich merke nur vielen Kommentaren an dass sie self-driving nicht ernst nehmen oder scherzhaft abwinken. Etwas Faktencheck tut gut.

Fakten:
- Der Artikel beschreibt dass Waymo nach London kommt. News, keine Werbung.
- Das Video ist von JJRicks, einem YouTuber der Videos von seinen self-driving Fahrten veröffentlicht. Keine offizielle Werbung.

Damit will ich sagen: Self-driving funktioniert, und kommt nach Europa.
