What's actually happening here, is Alton Towers clearly going for the profit making approach.

The round barrel plug means a device can be knocked over sideways, and doesn't damage the socket, unless you yank it hard—it's significantly cheaper than putting USB circuitry in.

I like a good figure 8 cable. However, it isn't a particularly secure plug in my experience. Kettle's often too secure.

AC/DC power supplies should only be available in 3.3, 5, 12, 24 and 48 volts.

I'm trying to plug in a used DAB radio, which didn't come with one. It needs six volts, and it doesn't work with five.
