Our Nov Rounds will explore how healthcare worker trauma can be navigated and why it is important to hold space for and acknowledge this reality. We will also explore educational and systemic initiatives that may assist healthcare workers dealing with the psycho-spiritual burden of providing care.

Healthcare workers have some of the highest rates of trauma of any profession, rivaling those in the armed services. How this impacts career trajectories, long-term mental health, and personal lives is often not openly discussed.

A new @jama.com study shows that between 2012 and 2022, Black individuals experienced the highest rates of premature mortality.

Thus, despite contributing to Medicare, Black Americans are least likely to reach the qualifying age for coverage.
