Great Christmas dinner with the NDE group! Annual tradition is the North China restaurant in Acton in late January and it was excellent as usual.

From my personal experience, the disadvantages range from the fairly trivial waiting in longer passport queues at the airport, through to more significant things like increased paperwork for sales of @pogo.software licenses to the EU, and that we can't recruit EU students for PhDs.
