This 2FA prompt was so unusually huge that it took me a good 5 seconds to work out what I was looking at.

Rail Safety Week 2025 runs from August 11th - 17th.

This week we're taking a break from our usual nonsense to promote the important - and sometimes difficult - things you all need to see and hear to keep you, the rail network, workers and everyone else safe and alive.

Likening PhD holders to a (non-functional) algorithm is a form of dehumanisation & anti-intellectualism that is a bellwether for contemporary fascism. Essentially it's a typical โ€” if not the archetypal โ€” first step towards fascism: to dehumanise, deskill, defund, and, ultimately, fire the academics.

A visual timeline titled "Prime Ministers of Australia Since Robert Menzies" featuring portraits of Australian Prime Ministers from 1949 to the present. Each portrait includes the leader's name and term dates. The sequence starts with Robert Menzies (1949โ€“1968) and continues through to Anthony Albanese (2022-). Some date entries contain typographical errors, and Tony Abbott appears twice with different dates. The portraits of the prime ministers are also really bad, absolutely incorrect and totally fucked up e.g. Gough Whitlam looks like a Bob Hawke hybrid and Bob Hawke doesnโ€™t even look like Bob Hawke. These images are a clear indication that AI hasnโ€™t quite got it right just yet.

Studies have found the most logical and fastest keyboard layout is not between key orders like qwerty and dvorak, but one that prioritises the size of keys depending on the frequency of those letters in the language being typed, regardless of the ordering.

Been reading about ADHD and justice sensitivity - that people with ADHD are often have a higher sensitivity for unfairness (hate discrimination, dishonesty, fake people and unfair situations) and I put it to you that that should just be the standard sensitivity people should have.

It is _ridiculous_ that so many airlines make it hard/impossible to add flights to your calendar. I recall some apps make this easier by allowing you to add flights by flight number etc, but I forget their names. Any suggestions?

Dating Apps Need to Learn How Consent Works Staying safe whilst dating online should not be the responsibility of usersโ€”dating apps should be prioritizing our privacy by default, and laws should require companies to prioritize user privacy over...

Consent fatigue isnโ€™t an excuse for dating apps to sidestep user rights, especially when these same platforms are harvesting intimate user data to build and power their AI tools.

Consent must be provided by design and not through nagging pop-ups or bundled terms.
