In five minutes I’ll have rethought the whole list 🫣
I had three loaves of bread all ready to go and the igniter on our oven decided to die.
I could only fit two in the freezer, and I made these scruffy muffys out of the third.
Repair tech says it’ll be 3-5 days until the new part comes in. Not great for a guy who bakes to cope with stress 😅
Very concerned that they will not be accurately portraying Victor as the biggest bitch baby ever

A couple of the breads I did this weekend. Dinner rolls, orange rolls, sandwich bread.

Today I saw a post on a tattoo Reddit that said if you’re putting lotion on your tattoo in the first 3 weeks you’re an idiot, it’s Aquaphor or nothing. My brother in ink we all have different skin, I’m glad you found aftercare that works for you.

Sourdough ‘experts’ give precise times and temps like we don’t all have different starters. Nutrition ‘experts’ give strict rules like we don’t all have different bodies.

One thing about baking that has really helped me be a better baker (and maybe a better human) is that you have to be ok with failing when you’re trying something new. It’s ok to throw something away and try again if it’s bad.
That being said, these dinner rolls turned out perfect on my first try 🥰

16.11.2024 22:58 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Today’s sourdough sandwich loaf. Not as pleased with it as I’d like; I keep trying to do open bake as my loaf pans don’t fit in my dutch oven, and yet my dutch oven loaves are just so much nicer no matter how much water/ice I put in the oven during open baking.

You didn’t come home, and I was worried, and—what?” She nodded to her son, then went back to the violin. “Shizuka Satomi came in with a new student. They brought this.” “That’s—” “A violin from China,” she said without looking up. “Yes, I know.” “No, I mean, it’s all in pieces.” “Yes. So are we all.” There is a reason that most luthiers never let players see what they do to their instruments. They would faint. Violinists often think of their violins as fragile, delicate creatures. But what do mere players know? What makes a violin special is not its fragility, but its resilience. One can change the strings and adjust the bridge. One can slide a sound post, replace the fittings, rebore the pegbox, carve a new bass bar, even change the angle of the neck.
I’ve been shattered this week, so I returned to Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki for comfort.
