I had a draw a few RCQs ago for a similar reason, super frustrating. I think in the future I would have called a judge after the first 5 minutes where they seemed confused, spoke to the judge away from the table, and said “my opponent is new to the game and playing slowly. I’d like you to help”

For people thinking about ROI, I got about 85 hours of fun out of 20$. Pretty great deal! Prior to this I had never connected a controller to my laptop or really played a game on my PC.

Same! Lost a sealed, lost a standard. Sometimes that’s how it goes. Playing magic online is always a good way for me to remind myself that over a bigger sample size I’m not terrible.

My brother and I made a game in college that was basically just an excuse to roll dice. It was like “oh roll D6 more D10s if you draw this card.” 90% of people didn’t like it but the 10% that did like it had an absolute blast. Miyazaki loves poison swamps. Maro loves doubling. What does Nile love!!?

Ok but here’s my design hot take: you know how you love that older game where keeping track of card order is huge? I think 90% of people can tell when a designer loves their mechanic, and sometimes designers are afraid to commit to the bit…I want to play a game where you’re like-
