So tired today. Had to stay up until midnight to collect a saliva sample last night so of course didn’t get to sleep until after 1.30am.

He’s proved how resilient he is. With no Yuki there’s only Albon competing under a flag from an Asian country. It will be very different with new regulations next year. I don’t know if I’d want a brand new driver as well as a new car.

Liam did great. His issue is that he doesn’t have any big and influential sponsors. Not his fault of course, but I wonder if that’s the deciding factor.

Sucks to be a T1 diabetic and need to carb count if we can’t rely on nutrition on the back of a packet.

Things I like to do include cooking, op shopping, watching cricket and my daughter has influenced me into enjoying F1 πŸ€”

A lot of my mental space is taken up with being a solo Mum to a wonderful but busy 14 year old, running my own business and managing the mental load of T1 diabetes.

Very simple with the jewellery, although I do like bracelets.

I’m not really a collector. But whimsical purchases might include: cookbooks, fancy drinking glasses - I love the vintage champagne coupe with hollow stems, ceramic art - both wall hanging and sculpture.

I like all colours really, I don’t have a particular favourite. However, I stick for neutrals to wear.

Except for when she brings mice in as entertainment…

Yes! I have this lovely one. My little grey puss Posy.

I’m assuming probably not, because I’m obviously still posting.

Can someone tell me if this is legitimate?

I’m a T1 diabetic. Lollies are literally medicine πŸ˜‚ I’m allergic to fish, but I don’t reckon that’s going to turn up in my mailbox… #SecretSantaAoNZ

#SecretSantaAoNZ hints: coffee, cricket, dark chocolate, tea (but nothing minty or green). Love a nice pen and notebooks are always handy. My teen daughter has influenced me into becoming an F1 fan recently πŸ€”

I don’t normally let Christmas start until after my birthday (Sunday) but don’t forget to sign up to #SecretSantaAoNZ before then!

They always remind me of the aliens from Toy Story.

Same. You can shred it like cabbage and use it in coleslaw.

This is true, but if people are reluctant or like a couple of friends of mine born in 1968 and not 1969 it might help with getting that immunisation.

Also, if you are in your 40s or early 50s you might have only had one vaccine. You may need a top up.

If you really aren’t sure, there’s a blood test you can get to check immunity.

Child’s Play so yeah, watch out I guess.

Went to Prime Minister last night. Took the 14 year old. Excellent, loved it. There’s tears, there is laughter. Highly recommend.

My daughter’s team won their netball final today. I’ve managed them this season and they are the nicest bunch of girls. I have no idea how parents of top sportspeople do it because it was very stressful!

How do you assess public speaking in an external exam?

04.08.2025 00:50 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Indeed. My school got a class of us to skip 6th form English and do Bursary a year early. That freed up a lot of 1s and 2s as we all got As in School Cert English.

I’ve got a Year 10. Assessment method doesn’t affect the core problem of the education system - lack of resources for schools and teachers. The co-requisites that kids start sitting in Year 10 are a big issue - only 40% nationwide are passing numeracy. If you don’t pass this, you don’t get NCEA.

04.08.2025 00:07 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Also, I seem to recall quite a bit of internal assessment at university, including the 40,000 odd words I wrote to gain my honours degree.

That. There were actually yelling matches in the staff room over the allocation of 1s and 2s at my school.

My daughter goes to one of the highest performing co-req schools and she’s very able. But the closer we get to September I can sense her anxiety growing. They feel like this is their future in 3 tests.
