Yeah it is pretty clear that "legal" immigration is not what they are encouraging. They keep interrupting and arresting people doing it "the right way" that have followed every step of the law. That is just the lie they are telling their voters. Truth is, they want NO immigrants, even white Irish!

Hey folks! I recently attended a two-day version of this, and it was amazing! Alice @aliceactivist.bsky.social will teach you how to get from "OMG WHAT CAN I DO!?" to realistic and consistent actions that align with your actual skills and capacities.

Let's be clear, though, that even strong women find themselves in abusive situations. It isn't about weakness; it's about a patriarchal system that prepares us to doubt ourselves, and that is then systematically exploited by abusers.

I hear you. I'm not Christian, myself, but I do remember what they taught me in Lutheran Sunday School, and it for sure wasn't what these Christian Nationalists are about. I like watching @timwhitaker.bsky.social for his take on this stuff, because he lived it and woke up to how wack it is.

Do you recognize yourself?

I know I have moved back and forth between floppy and reactive resistance for too long and it is taking a toll. We are in this for the long fight, friends, well beyond the next vote. Unprecedented honesty and compassion and deep healing will be needed in this country.

I just took a weekend workshop on grounded resistance from this amazing woman! I'll be sure to send a post about her next offering, so stay tuned! Meanwhile...

I guess they've never watched their precious Dallas Cowboy Cheerleeders dance, huh? The part that offends them is the color of the skin that was showing, not how it was moving or how much was shown.

The extremist Christian Nationalists, like the extreme right Republicans, are the loudest and most organized and therefore most politically powerful and with a very clear agenda, and no scruples about the harm they do to achieve it. I don't think they actually represent the majority of Christians.

I'm wondering when or if the Christians who are actually focused on the spirit of the teachings of Christ--that whole love, forgiveness, compassion thing--will rise up and say, "NO! That is not what Christianity is about! We do not support this!" I believe those are the actual majority.

This is the all-American "family" appropriate halftime they were bragging about? Uh. OK.

I don't speak Spanish, and I don't watch football, but this year's halftime show had me sobbing halfway through. Visually and culturally beautiful, celebrating Puerto Rico (this IS America, folks!) That it is still possible for a Spanish halftime fills me with American pride and joy. #iceout

Oh I'm not saying don't get angry. I'm pissed off a lot these days. I also see the toll it takes on my capacity to make clear-headed and effective actions, especially long-term. We're in this for the long haul. It isn't sustainable long-term. You have to sleep, eat, rest, and rebalance to fight.
