Also, going back on a new save, I was surprised at how much muscle memory I had for all the different minigames.

It took me a lot of tries originally to do tier 2 sit-ups, but in my current run it was relatively painless.

3D Brawler is one that gets a lot of deserved ire, but it's perhaps the best example of why iterating would be better than straight removal.

It's Punch Out.

I'd rather they improve on making the moves a little more readable than remove it. Sometimes it frustrates, other times I'm locked in.

Queen's Blood and Chocobo racing are the overstated standouts, but they also clearly had the most development time and interweave through the whole game.

Desert Rush feels like a nice difficulty and nuance for the more one and done minigames. It's a lot of route planning and learning the layout.

Been slowly picking away at the FF7 Rebirth platinum.

There are definitely a number of frustrating hard mode minigames, but I do ultimately like that you actually have a reason to get better and learn the nuances of each one.

I want them to iterate the minigames in part 3, not remove them.

New post: "Ageism in Games: Stop Calling Old Games Outdated: A Self-Review of Anodyne"

A plea from myself after Anodyne got the 'old games were worse' treatment the other day.

Sitting here listening to Persona 3 music like a nostalgic fool. Alarmingly close to booting up the PS2 version of FES and playing The Answer for the first time.

In theory, I could boot up a PS3 and alphabetize the list from there, but PS5 games don't show up in that view so...

Don't even get me started on Alan Wake 1 and 2! Will there be an Alan Wake 3?

I sure hope so! I definitely need to wait a good decade to see if it happens and only then get the Alan Wake 2 DLC trophies plus platinum the first game!

This is all extremely normal behavior. Why are you backing away?!

Get the few remaining DLC trophies in Control?

Absolutely not! I've got to wait until Control 2 comes out...

...except Control 2 will probably have DLC of it's own so I should actually wait until that is all released!

Forget PSSR or any other PS5 Pro feature. If the PS6 lets you properly sort your trophy list my soul is yours Sony!

My dumbass is out here holding off on platinuming certain games until their sequel is out so they can all self order into a neat little list!

At the very least if that FF9 remake happens it'll probably be ATB turn based!

I actually think this incoming era of Square is pretty primed to bring back turn based as an active branch of the main series. Maybe not in the form of FF17 or 18 but some kind of 3rd pillar alongside CS1+3's games.

I don't think you need settle for a spin-off though it may be 5-7 yrs off.

Revisiting Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and it's utterly wild how much a different feel the open world has when you barely touch the towers.

So much of the appeal of the activities in the world is driven by discovery and the towers heavily reduce that. Hopefully reworked in Part 3.
