A lot of what ends up in award conversations is a question of PR, but this year has had an embarrassment of riches both within and outside those parameters.

Many things can be true at once. 1) this review is nearly as breathless as Uncut Gems. 2) I still have mild PTSD from Uncut Gems and will never watch it again. 3) Chalamet is at the top of his game and should be watched. 4) this review via @siddhantadlakha.bsky.social is worth your time.

'Marty Supreme' review: TimothΓ©e Chalamet brings chaos energy to this sports dramedy of mythic proportions This nearly 3-hour thrill-ride feels like being strapped to an IV drip of some unholy cocktail of Red Bull and jet fuel.

β€œMarty Supreme” is sublime. A nerve-wracking sports dramedy of mythic proportions. Josh Safdie scratches that β€œUncut Gems” itch with a tale of naΓ―ve optimism and spiritual chaos. Chalamet has never been better. Kevin O’Leary is DEMONIC. What a rush decider.com/2025/12/01/m...

Little Shop of Horrors: the Letterboxd crew digs up 24 underseen scary movies β€’ Journal β€’ A Letterboxd Magazine To honor the hallowed Halloween season, Letterboxd contributors recommend 24 underseen horror films, spanning from ’60s noir witches to ’70s psychedelic vampires to ’80s against-type Colin Firth.

One of the better lists of underseen films I've read, from @thathagengrrl.bsky.social, @siddhantadlakha.bsky.social, @rifewithkatie.bsky.social and others! Rare you see actual obscure movies on one of these, but this is about 70% things I've never watched!

ChloΓ© Zhao’s β€˜Hamnet’ makes the case for re-interpretation Through superb performances, the Academy Award-winning Chinese filmmaker breathes new life into Shakespeare’s greatest play.

On ChloΓ© Zhao's "Hamnet," a very good movie that stops short of greatness, but makes an emotionally-driven case for reinterpretation through spiritual musings and stellar performances. Out now: joysauce.com/chloe-zhaos-...
