A nuthatch perched on a mossy piece of deadwood. The nuthatch has an orangey pink belly and chest with a white face and black band across it's eye. The bird's back is bluey grey.

Did you know that nuthatches like to plaster mud around the entrance hole to their nests? This helps prevent predators entering but can sometimes be overdone leading to the nuthatch struggling to squeeze in to their own nests! 🌳 🪹
