Weird that the Eugene police department claims to have no involvement in federal activity, but happened to open up hiring for more officers on their Mobile Response Team in the midst of recent protests to ICE. Posted January 30th.

Democrats are seeking "reforms" like bodycams for federal agents (so they have more footage to make commercials promoting mercenary violence), marked ICE vehicles (so we can't pressure car rental agencies), stricter codes of conduct (while thousands of bounty hunters go on terrorizing us).

Garbage.

They set the terms for the confrontation. Towards the end of the protests (around 9:30pm) the Eugene Police Department started staging around the block in SUVs and a riot truck, several officers on board.
At the time that EPD showed up, there had been no reports of harm to persons or property.

The cancelling of appointments in the morning, the preemptive outfitting of riot gear, and the targeted arrests all indicate that Tuesday was selected preemptively by feds as a day to exercise force on demonstrators and quell local resistance.

Flash bangs, pepper balls and gas, and rushes from 10+ agents at a time continued after the vigil ended. Some shot through the alter and candles left behind to honor Pretti.

As protests continued, and throughout the 5pm vigil organized by health care workers for Alex Pretti, armed agents intermittently grabbed people to drag inside and deployed munitions on the crowds, with no obvious provocations. Protesters only yelled and chanted. There were many candles lit.

“I believe they targeted me to scare and intimidate other demonstrators. They wanted to make a public example of me to chill other people from showing up and exercising their first amendment rights.” She’s also a plaintiff in a lawsuit against Trump and DHS for 1st amendment rights.

The first protester to be arrested, Anna Lardner, was rushed by ten armed feds as soon as she arrived for the Singing for Our Lives vigil. After being swarmed and dragged inside, she was told they targeted her because of a protest she was part of two weeks ago.

Feds had already selected specific people to target for arrest and harassment.

All regularly scheduled ICE appointments at the building were cancelled that morning, and reinforcements in riot gear were present before any vigil or protest.

So, recap: A candlelight vigil for #AlexPretti led by nurses and attended by elected officials across #LaneCountyOR was interrupted by DHS agents, lots of flash bangs, PepperBalls, and tear gas.

Now, there is talk that the Eugene Police are on the way.

This is the moment DHS agents came out of the Old Federal Building in #EugeneOR and flashbanged, PepperBalled, and tear gassed a nurse-led Candlelight Vigil for #AlexPretti with #LaneCountyOR elected officials supposedly in the crowd.

At least eight people have been arrested. Protesters are asking for more support.

Getting reports that things have escalated again - agents on the roof are deploying pepper balls, there has been tear gas and multiple detentions, and one person was attacked and injured by a chud who showed up.

The protesters have been released, and officers are all back inside. There is another vigil tonight to honor Alex Pretti.

At the federal building in Eugene Oregon, ICE officers rushed the group vigil, Singing for Our Lives. They dragged two protesters inside, and pepper sprayed the crowd.

Portland last night, Saturday Jan 24th.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

I've talked to people on the ground about the strike here tomorrow, and the single thing everyone brings up is just how shockingly wide the support for the strike is. Businesses that no one would have expected to support it are doing so.

it's never the crazy weird conspiracy theory weapons. they are poisoning you with toxins they are well-documented to have. they are beating you with ordinary sticks and shooting you with ordinary guns

the only conspiracy is how they gained legal immunity to do this

Good morning! I’m currently at Beaverton High School in OR where a mass student walk out has just started to demand a proactive ICE protocol for their school and district.

Students say that similar walkouts were planned at multiple other high schools, including Aloha, Sunset, Southridge & more.
