I’m a stalwart proponent of experiential learning. Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs) can literally change students’ lives. Cancelling REUs may appear pennywise, but it is worse than pound-foolish. More like megaton-foolish. It undercuts the cultivation of our future workforce.

All of these accidents are this administration’s fault, but they will switch the narrative and accuse FAA and “DEI” so they can continue to play their agendas. Capitalizing fear and controlling the narrative/communication are basic warfare techniques - and this is war: against their own people.

It’s funny how, in online discussions, people instantly bring up someone’s credentials and education the moment they feel threatened by an opinion. Instead of having an open conversation, they use it as a weapon to discredit the person—nothing screams insecurity louder.

Our native ecosystems are adapted to cold and ice cover. Many fruits (e.g., apples, cherries, blueberries) require a certain number of hours with cold temps to properly produce fruit the next season.

I'm an atmospheric scientist and university professor at @uwmad-aos.bsky.social. I’m also a former NASA JPL scientist.

I do multifaceted research in satellite remote sensing/radiation, with applications to aviation wx and also aerosol impacts on severe wx. I’m also a huge #avgeek.
