When you’re young, summers are for reinvention. Metamorphosis. Even nice young ladies can experiment during the summer. And in July 2008, Jenny’s messing about in a very dangerous laboratory, one where she could change forever. A snip from my #WIP “Surface Tension.”

Tonight I discovered that a cherry peppermint vodka egg cream is a thing and I shall be drinking them throughout the holiday season, thank you.

Awww shucks, thanks! I'm not used to writing verse at all, so this was great for getting waaaaay outside my comfort zone and approach my MC's voice from another angle.

A bit of fun I had in my writing group a while ago: the assignment was to take our characters and write a scene in rhyming verse about a first meeting. I was working on “This Ends Now” so here for #smutcember is an excerpt that includes Lainey and Gregory's first kiss. She deserved better!

I have only had one thing ever from Bergdorf Goodman: the most perfect green velvet minidress which I chanced upon at a TK Maxx in the West of England (how did it end up there?) with its Bergdorfs tags still on. Of course I lost it in a move because that's what happens to perfect clothes.

Yale 43 - Youngstown State 42 with 2:47 left in Q4. The poster is unable to focus on writing.

NO FUCKING WAY!

Q4 scores for Yale v. Youngstown (29-45) State and Harvard v. Villanova (7-44). The poster takes comfort in knowing her alma mater is less shit than Harvard when it comes to football.

Taking comfort that while we're going down immediately in our first crack at the postseason, we're not getting as humiliated as The Other Place.
