So I “finished” this cicada that has been taunting me since last summer. Not really the image I was aspiring to when I started but I think it’s still fairly identifiable as a cicada so I’m going to have to let it go.

A not insignificant amount of grief in my life stems from “woe is me” reaction to something happening. The “2nd arrow” of Buddhist pain - the story about the story. And while its important to protect yourself, also, taking yourself out of many equations and realising its not about you, helps a lot.
