“Max.” Eleanor’s steely tone sliced through the air like a knife, pinning their father to the wall. She set her wineglass down hard, sending the red pool it held dancing and swirling. “Stop it.” – HOME WAS A DREAM, p. 37

“It was easy to imagine how, in the dark, surrounded by a crowd, this room could feel vital, unified by the beat of a drummer & the words of a singer—but sitting empty in the day with house lights up & every corner exposed, it felt dingy and worn.” – NEVER BREAK THE CHAIN, p. 89

Embrace the Chaos - Jason Warburg I am the sort of person who believes there is a correct way to load a dishwasher. (Back to front; don’t @ me with that “anywhere you want” anarchy.) I am also the sort of person who rebels against…

Whether it goes against your nature, or aligns with it perfectly, the lesson feels clear: embrace the chaos.

About ”The Adventures of Lucca & Tirah” - Jason Warburg “Rumbly tumbly” black cat Lucca and curious, nimble grey tabby Tirah live with their humans in a house on the edge of town, next to a forest that the cats have named The Great Wood. When Lucca spies…

THE ADVENTURES OF LUCCA AND TIRAH took on a fresh dimension as the story itself came together—a gentle tale about fear of the unknown and the challenges of making friends, that’s also an allegory about prejudice.

“The worst thing I can say about guitarist Ronnie Montrose’s moody, inventive 1978 solo debut is that it’s too damn short. At just under 36 minutes, Open Fire invariably leaves me wanting more. – MY HEART SINGS THE HARMONY, p. 90

The first time I saw the band Kansas play live was in August of 1978. The second time I saw the band Kansas play live was last night, 47 years later. So, of course, I had thoughts.

Eight years ago today, NEVER BREAK THE CHAIN arrived. The second Tim Green novel was the first time I tried writing out of order; I was maybe a quarter of the way in when I suddenly had a clear vision of how the “reveal” in chapter 16 should go, so I jumped ahead and wrote it.

Let It Go (If You Can) - Jason Warburg I’m a fan of the serenity prayer; in order to keep moving forward in this life, you have to learn to let things go. Which makes it embarrassing when I can’t.

Sometimes I just can’t let it go. (Even if I probably should.)

The Branson School asked me to interview one of the school’s most famous alumni—1998 Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley. We had a great conversation that covered a lot of ground; see p. 18-21 at the link.
