All around me the noise is fierce, on so many fronts. Tonight is the start of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. It's in my DNA to find myself mentally closing the door on the noise, making time for quiet reflection. I wish friends a sweet and healthy year. I'll be in the kitchen if you need me.

He is actually from Minnesota. He works for a tech company in Ottawa. And frankly, with this information, I wouldn't say not to our government sending him back to y'all. It makes me sick to read that article, knowing he is operating here in Canada.

We see cruelty, they see "useless eaters" (their phrase, not mine). Wasn't dismantling USAID enough? Isn't decimating FEMA enough? Isn't gutting the Education system enough? Isn't perverting the Supreme Court into a puppet rubber stamper enough? Apparently not.

Hard to believe anyone actually gives a shit about places like Gaza or Ukraine, or the homeless anywhere, or the displaced in Texas...when this much food is being thrown the hell out. Beyond disgraceful. Reprehensible.

High view over Easter Island (Rapa Nui). There have been some tragically harsh weather conditions this summer. My heart breaks for all those who have lost loved ones, both human & animal, & to those who have seen homes destroyed/swept away, & all the memories & memorabilia that go with them.

Hard news coming out of the North Rim at Grand Canyon. My thought go out to all those affected by the fire that has consumed the historic Grand Canyon Lodge. This is what wildfire smoke looks like from the air. This was a fire in 2019, smoke above Sedona originated 20 miles away. Very sad news.

Surely I can't be the ONLY person who remembers Rose Mary Woods and the Nixon tapes???

Word is the farmworkers are now organizing. I hope that the entire Union force of the entire US of A gets behind this and goes for a full, nation wide general strike. As we both keep saying, only $ speak to these phukers. So speak loud, America. Hit 'em in the pocketbook.

You're talking to a Canadian, one of tens of thousand who is no longer travelling to the US. I didn't say boycotts don't work, I said protesting isn't working. And CA is fighting, hard, but you need the rest of the country to step up. Boycott and maybe a general strike? All he understands is $$$.
