I am mostly playing loud music so that my wee dog does not hear any explosions. She goes absolutely inside-out with panic at harsh noises.
Meanwhile here in Cornwall people voted for loons.

If you could please do us a favour and RT (or whatever it is on here) my writing CV I would be extremely grateful. I am a very capable writer of words, mainly โhumorousโโ and if you have some PROPER paid work for me, please DM me. Thank you for your time www.mathew-owen.co.uk

They got flooded out of their basement flat in Mutley. Sounded terrifying, they had a struggle getting out against the force of water.
Loving the geometry of your frame, those long seat stays meaning the seat tube almost halves the diamond. And the colour, almost celeste.
Very pleasing on thr eye.
Makes Pete look huge.
Both beautiful though.

The poor old Radcliffe Observatory is disappearing behind buildings of a different era and, um, different tastes. Developers now like everywhere to be called a "Quarter", and this area is now apparently called "the Observatory Quarter". These pictures were taken in 2021 and 2023.

02.08.2025 07:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0โCome on,โ said Moon-Face. โCome and eat a Google Bun and see what you think of it.โ Soon they were all sitting on the broad branches outside Moon-Faceโs house, eating Pop Biscuits and Google Buns. The buns were most peculiar. They each had a very large currant in the middle, and this was filled with sherbet. So when you got to the currant and bit it the sherbet frothed out and filled your mouth with fine bubbles that tasted delicious. The children got a real surprise when they bit their currants, and Moon-Face almost fell off the branch with laughing.โ - The Magic Faraway Tree, Enid Blyton.
Ahem. I think you'll find that it was Enid Blyton who invented Google 14 years earlier, in 1939.
23.07.2025 17:00 โ ๐ 14 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Did you ever read what they call Science Fiction? Itโs a scream. It is written like this: โI checked out with K19 on Aldabaran III, and stepped out through the crummalite hatch on my 22 Model Sirus Hardtop. I cocked the timejector in secondary and waded through the bright blue manda grass. My breath froze into pink pretzels. I flicked on the heat bars and the Brylls ran swiftly on five legs using their other two to send out crylon vibrations. The pressure was almost unbearable, but I caught the range on my wrist computer through the transparent cysicites. I pressed the trigger. The thin violet glow was icecold against the rust-colored mountains. The Brylls shrank to half an inch long and I worked fast stepping on them with the poltex. But it wasnโt enough. The sudden brightness swung me around and the Fourth Moon had already risen. I had exactly four seconds to hot up the disintegrator and Googleโต had told me it wasnโt enough. He was right.โ They pay brisk money for this crap?
Happy birthday to Raymond Chandler, inventor of Google
(Legitimately love this attempted mockery of science fiction. I'd easily read a novel or series in this style.)
