The cheaper Anbernics and even the AliExpress knockoffs are great for modding though. Lots of custom buttons on Etsy.

Sadly, the newer Android based ones like the Retroid Pocket, and Ayn Thor aren't very repairable at all. They use the same glued screens and cases that phones use.

Nobody wants to talk about this because they just want to collect them, not *use* them.

As many YouTubers as there are reviewing retro handhelds from Anbernic, Retroid, Ayaneo, Miyoo, Powkiddy, TrimUI etc you'd think that at least one of them would regularly tear them down and show us whether or not they can be repaired.

My biggest problem with the RP5 is the d-pad. It's kind of clicky and doesn't move much so it hurts my thumb after a while.

Hard to believe Nintendo lets them get away with this. They even copied the speaker holes! 😆

The RP5 runs Rocknix so it's still my favorite.
