I believe that latter part was pretty much how John put it himself. No-one could replace Freddie, so what was the point (for him) in continuing. But yeah, very novel for someone in such a high profile band to just be able to turn around and walk away and be content with that.

Had a bit of a wake-up/realization at the weekend about how elderly my parents are getting. Mum hasn't been well for a while now and as a result has become really frail recently. Dad's as hale as he can be, but 50 miles away I worry about both when I'm not there.
